CONFIDENCE , COMMUNICATION , LEADERSHIP
In our Public Speaking Classes/Camps, students will learn different ways we engage in public speaking, and how we speak in public. We will discuss five main points of public speaking, and use activities to reinforce what we have learned. This class/camp helps students stand up in front of a group and give presentation, whether in front of their class at school or in formal settings. Our Public Speaking class/camp covers a wide range of topics including first impressions, the body language, impromptu speaking, gestures, comedy, and more. The students will have fun: Growing in confidence. Practicing peer-to-peer communication and the art of conversation. Thinking critically and speaking persuasively. Studying speech writing and the practice of rhetoric.
Some kids are naturally good speakers and take to public speaking, while others fear standing in front of an audience and talking to them. Public speaking improves young people's overall communication skills, increases self-esteem and confidence, plans and organize their thoughts, expresses their ideas in front of the class, and develops leadership skills. Effective communication is a vital tool in almost every area of life, from learning in school, to creating friendships, to building a career. Public speaking remains the number one fear in the United States. We believe that practicing effective communication deserves as much investment as any activity.
